ngGirls and ng-conf 2018

Published on Jun 07, 2018

I've had a crazy 6 weeks since ng-conf, but man it was great this year. This was my third year, and it was probably the best year I've been. It gets better and better each year. One of the best parts was ngGirls on the Tuesday before the conference started.

One of the parts that made it so great was getting to share it with my wife, Amanda. She's been wanting to get into web development for a while now, and she got to participate in ngGirls. It was so fun, and so well organized. Bonnie Brennan did an especially good job. She was motivational, approachable, and made the day a great experience. I'm so glad I was able to meet her and talk to her throughout the conference.

It was also great getting to meet other people from around the country that had come into the conference. Amanda and I met one guy from Kansas City at ng-party on the first night, and then kept running into him throughout the week. It was really fun to get to talk to him for a bit.

The talks were all really high quality as well, just like always. The organizers did a great job at choosing engaging speakers with great topics. I saw a lot of areas where I can get better, and a lot of areas that Angular has improved and will improve. It was so motivational. I focused more this time around on focusing on big picture things during the conference and then going back to focus on individual talks after. It helped me get a lot more out of the conference and kept me from feeling burned out during the week.

If you ever have a chance to attend ng-conf, do it! I know not everyone has the opportunity, but if you do you won't regret it. The community is incredible and the conference is top notch. I'm already looking forward to next year!
